GPS2PowerTrack Plugin - Getting Started

Weather Information

In order to set up the weather information part of the plugin, there's little to do:
  1. Select an activity near your home in the "Daily Activity" st_dailyactivityview.gif view of SportTracks.
Note: the selected activity must have a GPS track, i.e. show a track on the SportTracks map.
  2. Select "Edit Activity Find Weather Stations" to find weather stations near this activity.
  3. Before you can close the dialog form of this actity, you have to chose the time zone where these weather stations live in.
  4. Go to the "GPS2PowerTrack - Weather" settings page and disable weather stations that you don't want to use.
You only have to do this once for every area where your activities are located. Of course you can repeat this step to check if new weather stations have become available in your vicinity.
Once you've done this, you can use the "Find Weather Information" action in the "Daily Activity" view st_dailyactivityview.gif and the "Reports" view st_reportsview.gif of SportTracks.
You can view the current weather condtions during your activity on the "Weather Information" activity detail page
Once you've found weather information for an activity, you must first use "Edit Activity Clear Weather Information" before you can try and find weather information again.

Power Calculation

The process of setting up the power calculation part is slightly more complex:
  1. Prerequisite 1: you have already configured your equipment (bike and tires) in the "Equipment" view st_equipmentview.gif.
Note: don't forget to configure the weight of your equipment. This will be taken into account to calculate rolling drag and climbing power.
  2. Prerequisite 2: you have already configured yourself in the "Athlete" View st_athleteview.gif.
You must at least enter your body height and your weight for any date previous to the date of your first activity.
  3. Go to the "GPS2PowerTrack - Power" settings page.
  4. Select your bike from the drop down list in the "Bike" column of the first table row. Select the bike type and your usual riding position in columns 2 and 3. You can configure as many bikes as you like.
  5. Do the same for your tires: select the brand and model. If you don't find an exact match, use a similar one for now.
Note: the plugin does not discern between front and rear tire of your bike. So you only have to configure one tire.
You only have to do this once per logbook.

Once you've done this, you can use the "Calculate Power Track" action in the "Daily Activity" view st_dailyactivityview.gif and the "Reports" view st_reportsview.gif of SportTracks.
